Earthquake Catalogs from temporary seismic deployments in southwestern Utah, June 2016-October 2017 (CSV): Detection-Catalog_ESupp.csv

This earthquake catalog was compiled for research of seismicity in the Sevier Thermal area in southwestern Utah. Three-Component 5 Hz Nodal geophones were deployed in 30-day experiments to record seismicity below detection levels of the regional network. Detection was performed on continuous seismic data using a traditional STA/LTA detector and a frequency domain detector. In total 203 event were detected and are listed in this catalog. The catalog begins June 29, 2016 and ends October 9, 2017 but is not continuous throughout this time period, as Nodal arrays were deployed at discrete intervals during the entire monitoring effort.

Information in the catalog represents event locations following the HYPOINVERSE2000 output. Headers for the CSV file of event information are outlined below.

HRMIN  Origin time, HHMM
SEC  Origin time, seconds.
LAT  Origin latitude in decimal degrees.
LON  Origin longitude in decimal degrees
Depth  Origin depth in kilometers
Detector  Detector designed in study to detect microseismicity that detected event
Nphases  Number of P-wave arrival times picked for event.
Azimuthal Gap  Maximum azimuthal gap between stations with arrival picks.
Distance to Nearest Station  Distances to closest station with an arrival pick.
RMS  Root-mean-squared error of the residuals (seconds)
ERH  Horizontal error, 95% confidence ellipse in horizontal plane.
ERZ Horizontal error, 95% confidence ellipse in vertical plane.
Event Quality  Letter Grade assigned by HYPO2000.
